EOS and the Brazilian space startup BIZU Space have agreed to cooperate on metal additive manufacturing. BIZU Space engineers will receive Design for Additive Manufacturing training through the Additive Minds Academy, plus support from EOS application experts. The startup works on propulsion for a Brazilian privately developed orbital launcher.
Advanced Manufacturing Partners (AMP), a strategic partner of ACMI, will base its flagship factory in Austin, Texas. The machine fleet includes what AMP calls the world's first deployed AMCM M 8K, with an 800 x 800 x 1200 mm build volume and eight 1 kW lasers. A ribbon-cutting is planned for early 2027.
Kratos Defense & Security Solutions will install an AMCM M 8K, a large-format multi-laser metal powder bed fusion system from the EOS brand AMCM, at its Indiana Payload Integration Facility in Odon. The machine is meant to produce large components for affordable, high-cadence hypersonic systems. It is a sign that defense primes are moving large-format metal AM in-house.
